Faith Network 4 Manchester, Faiths4Change and NHS Manchester have partnered to develop an important health conference for our city. WELL-Beings of Faith will take place on:
Monday, 22 November 2010
Start: 4.00pm Finish: 8.00pm

With our chief aim being to to promote dialogue between organisations providing services to faith groups across Manchester and Mancunians of all backgrounds, the conference will bring Imams, Priests, Rabbis and other people of faith together to share information about the role of faith in promoting health and well being. We will explore issues such as barriers and access to services in Manchester; the impact of dietary regulations; emotional, mental and spiritual health and much more in a stimulating and friendly atmosphere.
Vegetarian kosher food and Fairtrade refreshments will be provided alongside workshops, stalls and related activities.
Presentations include:
- A Picture of Health- NHS Manchester
- What my faith says about health (Jewish, Christian, Muslim, Sikh etc perspectives)
- “Becoming our own health expert” - Charlie Walduck (slimming champion who lost 30 stone in less than 2 years and now presents local radio that often explores the role individuals can take in leading approaches to healthy lifestyles that are bespoke to their personal situations).
Workshops will include:
- sharing good health practice
- growing produce in the City with the community
- natural healing – a holistic approach
- healthy lifestyles
This will be an excellent opportunity to showcase your service to members of your Mancunian public and to learn first hand how those services are experienced across the spectrum of Manchester’s faith communities, so if you would like a stall at the event, please complete the attached booking form and email to healthconference@fn4m.org. Stalls are an excellent investment at only £60 and are allocated on a first come – first served basis.
